Career retraining can prepare you for a recognized vocational qualification; its duration, structure and examination depend on the occupation and responsible body. Funding from the Federal Employment Agency or Jobcenter may be available, particularly if it is necessary for integration into employment. The responsible agency assesses each case and must approve funding before the start; wanting to change occupations does not automatically entitle you to funding. Initial vocational training follows different routes and funding rules.
