Applying for support before vocational training in Germany

Under certain conditions, vocational training assistance (Berufsausbildungsbeihilfe, BAB) supports initial in-company or off-company vocational training. As a rule, it is paid no earlier than the month in which the application reaches the Federal Employment Agency.

Tip

Apply early as soon as it becomes clear that you need financial support for in-company or off-company training. The month the application is received matters; submit any missing evidence promptly so the assessment is not held up unnecessarily.
