Insurance in Suriname

Insurance in Suriname is a contractual or statutory arrangement that covers defined financial risks, such as illness, accidents, death, property damage, liability or loss of income. Private insurers offer policies for homes, vehicles, businesses, life, travel and personal accidents, while public systems include AOV, pensions, SOR and WAM. The Central Bank of Suriname supervises the insurance market, but it does not settle individual customer disputes.
