Communication in Zimbabwe

Communication in Zimbabwe uses mobile networks, internet services, postal services, public offices and informal channels such as WhatsApp. Mobile and digital communication are widespread, but access varies with location, electricity, network coverage, devices and data costs. Zimbabwe recognizes 16 officially recognized languages, and communication with institutions should take account of language and accessibility needs.

Tip

Choose the communication channel according to urgency, access, privacy and the evidence you need to keep. Use official institutional contacts for public services, retain reference numbers and receipts, and prepare a physical or postal alternative when digital access may fail.
