Elections in Trinidad and Tobago

Elections in Trinidad and Tobago choose representatives for the House of Representatives, local authorities and the Tobago House of Assembly. Parliamentary elections use first-past-the-post voting in 41 constituencies: the candidate with the most votes in a constituency wins. The Elections and Boundaries Commission, or EBC, manages voter registration, constituency boundaries and election operations.

Tip

Match the election to the decision you want to influence: parliamentary elections concern national representation, local government elections concern municipal matters in Trinidad, and THA elections concern Tobago. Confirm your eligibility and electoral-list entry well before polling day, then prepare identification, polling details and any special voting application that applies to you.
