Disasters in South Sudan

South Sudan faces recurring river and flash floods as its main disaster risk, followed by drought. Flooding is most common from July to October during the June to September rainy season and affects communities, roads, bridges, health facilities, schools, water systems and livelihoods. Disaster response combines government coordination, local action and humanitarian support, but warnings, transport and assistance remain uneven across States, Counties and Payams.
