School in Rwanda

Rwanda’s school system covers three years of pre-primary education, six years of primary school from P1 to P6, and six years of secondary school divided into lower secondary from S1 to S3 and upper secondary from S4 to S6. Primary education is compulsory and free in public and government-subsidised schools. Public, government-subsidised, private, specialised or inclusive, boarding, day and international-curriculum schools can differ in admission, language, fees and support.
