Living in Pakistan

Pakistan lies in South Asia between Iran, Afghanistan, China, and India, extending from the Arabian Sea to the high mountains of the Himalayas. Around 212.2 million people live there. In the north, snow-covered mountains and deep valleys shape the landscape, while the Indus Plain is fertile and the west is partly dry. The climate ranges from winter cold in the mountains to intense heat; in the south and east, the monsoon brings heavy rainfall at times. In cities, many people live in densely built-up neighborhoods, while in rural areas they live in smaller houses and settlements. Buses, motorcycles, and rickshaws are widespread. Agriculture, trade, services, and industry shape employment, while family visits, markets, and shared meals are part of everyday life.
