State in Niger

Niger is a unitary, sovereign and indivisible republic governed under the Charte de la Refondation nationale, adopted and promulgated on 26 March 2025 with constitutional value. The State combines transition institutions, regional and communal administration, public finance, oversight, public services and security bodies. The 2010 Constitution has remained suspended since 28 July 2023 under the transition arrangements.

Tip

Treat Niger's current State system as a transition framework with changing institutional and security conditions, not as a normal parliamentary administration. For an administrative matter, identify the responsible level first, then confirm the current legal basis, documents, fee and timing with the relevant ministry, governorate, prefecture or commune. Keep written evidence whenever the matter concerns public money, complaints, media activity or security.
