Crime in Mongolia

Crime in Mongolia includes offences against property, fraud, violence, sexual offences and digital attacks. Police recorded 47,480 crimes in 2025, compared with 44,673 in 2024; recorded cases do not measure all actual crime. Everyday risk is generally manageable but rises in crowded places, at night, around alcohol, during major festivals and when using unlicensed transport.

Tip

Use a simple priority order in Mongolia: call 102 for immediate danger, use 107 for domestic-violence support, and use 108 when a child needs protection. For non-urgent incidents, choose the 102 Police app or an in-person report according to connectivity and urgency, preserve the registration number and evidence, and do not rely on English support or financial assistance being available.
