Living in Malaysia

Malaysia is located in Southeast Asia and consists of part of the Malay Peninsula as well as areas on the island of Borneo, separated by the South China Sea. Around 31.5 million people live there. Tropical rainforests, long coastlines, islands and mountains shape the landscape. The climate is warm and humid year-round; depending on the region, the monsoons bring varying amounts of rain. In Kuala Lumpur, many people live in high-rise buildings and use trains, buses or cars, while single-family homes and roads through the countryside are common in smaller towns. Work is found, among other sectors, in services, industry, agriculture and trade. Sabah and Sarawak are less densely populated and more strongly shaped by rural ways of life than the west coast.
