Living in Kuwait
Kuwait lies on the Persian Gulf between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and has around 4.1 million people. The country is predominantly flat and characterized by deserts; natural freshwater sources are scarce. Summers are very hot, dry and often dusty, while winters are milder and occasionally bring rain. Most people live in the Kuwait City metropolitan area in air-conditioned apartments or houses and get around mainly by car on well-developed roads. Employment is found, among other sectors, in the oil industry, public service, trade and construction. In their free time, people meet in shopping malls, cafés, family homes or along the coast; outside the cities begins the vast desert landscape.
