Disasters in Fiji

Disasters in Fiji include tropical cyclones, floods, storm surges, landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, droughts and forest fires. Cyclone and flood risks are usually highest from November to April, with the greatest activity often between January and March, but exposure varies between islands, coastal areas, river valleys and inland districts. Fiji combines national coordination through the National Disaster Management Organisation (NDMO) with divisional, district and community response.
