Elections in Eswatini

Eswatini uses a Tinkhundla-based electoral system, in which voters choose individual candidates through constituency-level elections rather than party-list voting. The House of Assembly has up to 60 elected members, while the Senate is not directly elected by the public. Eligible voters register in one inkhundla, vote in secret and follow arrangements set by the Elections and Boundaries Commission.

Tip

Use the EBC's current notice or Gazette as the controlling source for registration dates, polling details, boundaries and election procedures. If you are voting, confirm your single inkhundla registration and register details early; if you are standing as a candidate, prepare supporters, campaign restrictions and reporting duties before the primary. Do not rely on older election summaries where the 2023 Bucopho rules or current dates may differ.
