Religion in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is predominantly Christian; Muslim, traditional and smaller religious communities also exist. The Constitution protects freedom of religion, public and private religious practice, and religious teaching and rites. However, religious organizations, schools and communities face different legal requirements, areas of responsibility and regional risks.
