School in Dominica

Dominica's school system provides general education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) through primary and secondary school. Primary education generally begins at age five, and compulsory attendance applies from ages 5 to 16 under the Education Act, subject to the statutory leaving point. Public-school tuition is free, but families may still pay for uniforms, shoes, materials, transport, meals, activities and other charges; ECD and private-school costs vary by provider.
