A passport should remain valid for more than six months on the date of entry. The correct visa pathway depends on nationality, travel purpose and the port of entry. Cambodia lists visa exemption for citizens of Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and Myanmar. A temporary exemption for passports from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, excluding Taiwan, allows multiple entries of up to 14 days per entry from 15 June through 15 October 2026. Check the current official conditions before relying on an exemption. The tourist eVisa T costs USD 30 and the ordinary eVisa E costs USD 35. Both are single-entry permissions valid for three months from issue and allow a stay of up to one month; processing takes about three business days. The application requires a digital photograph and a valid payment card. eVisas are accepted at Techo International Airport (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS), Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal. The current official notice lists eVisa service as temporarily unavailable at Cham Yeam and Poipet, so travelers using those crossings should check the available visa-on-arrival or other entry procedure. Every traveler, including a person who already holds a visa, must submit the Cambodia e-Arrival declaration through the official arrival portal. It is free and can be submitted within seven days before arrival or on arrival. A yellow-fever certificate is required for travelers aged one or older who arrive from a yellow-fever risk country or have transited such a country for more than 12 hours. Immigration takes place at an authorized airport or land checkpoint. Since 27 April 2026, the Cambodia v-Pass has replaced the physical immigration stamp or QR sticker for foreign travelers; the v-Pass is free. Keep the passport, visa or eVisa, e-Arrival record, v-Pass record and accommodation address together because later checks or immigration services may require them. Do not assume that entry automatically grants a visa extension or residence status, and follow the permitted stay and port conditions shown for the relevant entry pathway. Cambodian customs uses passenger allowances for personal goods. The stated allowance includes up to two liters of alcohol, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, and 350 milliliters of perfume or cosmetics. Alcohol and tobacco allowances do not apply to travelers under 18. Other travel effects should be limited to reasonable personal quantities. Declare excess or restricted goods through e-Arrival or verbally; the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) decides any duty or tax assessment. Airport transfers depend on the arrival point. KTI lies about 20 kilometers south of Phnom Penh, and the Airport Express Bus runs daily from 05:30 to 23:30 on direct city-airport services. Transfer arrangements from SAI, KOS and land checkpoints differ, so verify transport availability and opening conditions for the selected port. Cambodia uses the Khmer Riel (KHR) as its national currency, while USD and KHR are both commonly used for payments. The amount of cash or payment access needed at arrival depends on the airport, checkpoint, transport and destination. After arrival, the accommodation owner, possessor or responsible manager reports a foreigner's presence through FPCS-GDI to the competent police within 24 hours, as provided by Article 18 of the Immigration Law. FPCS-GDI is the reporting system connected with the General Department of Immigration (GDI), and access is available through an app or website using a digital scan workflow. Cambodia has no single national one-stop registration and newcomer-service procedure evidenced by the consulted official sources: immigration reporting, customs, airports and local accommodation functions remain divided among GDI, GDCE, airport services and local bodies. Missing accommodation registration can impair access to later immigration services.
Arrival in Cambodia
Arrival in Cambodia involves choosing the correct entry permission, submitting the free Cambodia e-Arrival declaration and completing immigration and customs checks at an authorized port. Foreign travelers receive a free v-Pass instead of a physical immigration stamp or QR sticker. After reaching accommodation, the owner, possessor or responsible manager must report the foreigner's presence through FPCS-GDI within 24 hours.
Tip
Treat arrival in Cambodia as a linked set of checks: confirm that your passport, nationality, purpose and entry port match the selected permission, then complete the e-Arrival declaration and preserve every record. Arrange transport, payment access and accommodation reporting in advance because immigration, customs and local registration are handled separately. The most avoidable problems are using an eVisa at an unsupported crossing, missing a required health document, exceeding customs allowances or leaving the 24-hour accommodation report unresolved.
