Living in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa with around 19.8 million people. It stretches from dry Sahel regions in the north to somewhat more humid savannas in the south. The rainy season brings agriculture and grazing land, while the long dry season shapes the landscape and daily life. In Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, many people live in houses or walled compounds and often get around by motorcycle, bicycle, and bus. In rural areas, crop farming, livestock raising, and local markets set the rhythm of daily life. Cities offer more schools, services, and employment opportunities; in remote regions, distances are greater and services more limited. Families, neighborhoods, music, and sharing meals are part of social life in many places.
