Buying essential food or medicine before a quiet day avoids inconvenience. Product labels may use Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian, which are closely related local standard languages. Serbian may also appear in Cyrillic, particularly in some parts of the country. Consumers can compare unit prices, inspect packaging, and ask about return conditions before buying. Informal market purchases may offer less formal protection than purchases from established stores.
