Apprenticeship in the Bahamas

An apprenticeship in the Bahamas combines paid or otherwise compensated workplace learning with supplementary learning outside the workplace. The legal framework has applied since August 6, 2024, and leads to recognized competencies or a qualification in a specific occupation. The National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) is a new, cohort-dependent offering with workplace placement, structured learning, and possible transition into employment.

Tip

Choose a registered apprenticeship if you are seeking a recognized occupational qualification with genuine workplace practice. Use the NAP only after checking the current cohort conditions, because age, duration, occupations, and employers vary. NTA training and BTVI programs are a better fit if you are looking for short-term entry-level skills or a formal qualification.
