Antigua and Barbuda is a unitary sovereign state organised as a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy. The Constitution is the highest law, and national government operates through the Governor-General, Parliament, Cabinet, ministries, courts and independent oversight bodies. Barbuda has a constitutional local government body, while national ministries provide most public administration across Antigua and Redonda.
