Living in Armenia

Armenia lies in the South Caucasus between Europe and Asia and has around 3.1 million people. The landlocked country is characterized by high plateaus, deep gorges, and mountains; Lake Sevan is one of its distinctive landscapes. Summers are usually hot and dry, while winters can be cold and snowy depending on altitude. In Yerevan, many people live in apartment buildings and get around by bus, minibus, or metro. Outside the capital, smaller cities and villages shape everyday life, often with houses, gardens, and agricultural work. Many people also work in trade, construction, services, or technology. Family visits, shared meals, and walks are often part of leisure time.
