Living in Grenada
Grenada is an island country in the southern Caribbean, northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, with around 111,454 people. The main island is volcanic, offering forested hills, fertile valleys, and bays; Grenada also includes the smaller islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The climate is tropical, with a drier season and a wetter season. Many people live in simple, often colorful houses along winding roads and use buses, cars, or boats. Jobs are available, among other sectors, in tourism, agriculture, fishing, and trade. In the capital, St. George’s, daily life is more urban than in rural communities or on the smaller islands; there, neighborhood life, family life, cricket, and gatherings by the sea shape leisure time.
