Living in Argentina
Argentina is located in the south of South America, between the Andes in the west and the Atlantic in the east, and has around 44.5 million inhabitants. The country stretches from subtropical areas in the north through fertile plains and temperate regions in the centre to the dry, windy landscapes of Patagonia and the cold Andes. Many people live in cities; in Buenos Aires, apartments and a dense network of buses and trains shape everyday life, while outside the metropolitan areas, cars and long-distance buses are more important. Jobs can be found, among other sectors, in agriculture, industry, trade and services. Families, shared meals, mate, sports and meeting in squares are common leisure activities in many places, with urban and rural areas having clearly different rhythms of life.
