Art in Saint Lucia

Art in Saint Lucia is an established but fragmented field covering visual art, music, literature, film, performance, architecture, design, photography and digital work. The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF), a statutory body supporting cultural development, works with the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage and other institutions through training, festivals, venues, community programmes and creative-enterprise support. Access is formal through schools and colleges, non-formal through CDF activities, and informal through community groups and self-organised artists; opportunities and costs vary by programme or project.

Tip

Choose the pathway that matches your immediate aim: structured study, a specific creative project, community practice or professional work. Use CDF programmes and arts markets for project-based opportunities, but do not assume that a workshop, grant or exhibition place is available without a current call or written confirmation. Keep written records of admissions, costs, ownership and licences before committing time, money or creative work.
