Business in Saint Lucia

Starting and running a business in Saint Lucia involves choosing a legal form, registering with the Registry of Companies and Intellectual Property (ROCIP), and meeting tax, licensing and reporting duties. An individual or partnership can operate under a Business Name, while a company is incorporated under the Companies Act. The main public bodies are ROCIP, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), SEDU, Invest Saint Lucia and, for some activities, the Trade Licence Advisory Board.

Tip

Choose the registration path from your actual structure, ownership and activity: individual Business Name, partnership, incorporated company, Trade Licence route or CSME Rights of Establishment. Build the tax, VAT, annual-return and licence deadlines into one compliance calendar before trading. Use SEDU for small-business support and Invest Saint Lucia for investment navigation, but treat both as support services rather than substitutes for ROCIP, IRD or licence approvals.
