The Institut national des langues (INLL) offers adults aged 18 and over courses in 13 languages, including Lëtzebuergesch, French, German, English, Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Courses range from A1 to C2 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and include standard, compact, workshop, professional, blended, e-learning, hybrid and guided self-study formats. New INLL learners normally complete a placement process and interview, except at A1 level. Courses usually last one semester, while some professional courses last about eight weeks; registration takes place through MyINL. The course price depends on the offer, and books or other materials are usually charged separately. A reduced tariff of 10 euros is available when the required proof from ADEM, SNAS, ONA, CAI or a social office is provided. For the autumn 2026 offer, registration runs from 10 September to 2 October for courses from 22 September 2026 to 28 January 2027.
Languages in Luxembourg
Language learning in Luxembourg includes Lëtzebuergesch, French, German, English and other languages for everyday life, education, work, integration and nationality procedures. Formal courses, public programmes, community offers, examinations and digital tools serve different goals and levels. Access, fees and proof of learning depend on the provider, personal status and intended use.
Tip
Choose the learning route by the result you need: everyday communication, work access, integration, nationality evidence or a child’s entry into education. INLL suits adults who need structured levels and documented progress, while SFA, municipalities and ASBL organisations may fit local or evening learning; ADEM, integration programmes and nationality tests serve narrower conditions. Do not treat course attendance or informal practice as equivalent to a certificate accepted for a nationality application or proof of a specific level.
