Living in Luxembourg

Luxembourg lies in Western Europe between Belgium, Germany and France and has around 607.728 people. In the north, wooded heights and deep valleys of the Ardennes shape the landscape, while the south and east feature gentle hills and vineyards along the Moselle. The climate is temperate, changeable and mostly free of extreme temperatures. In the capital and its surrounding area, many people live in apartments and commute to work by train, bus or car; villages more often offer detached houses and quieter residential areas. Everyday life has an international character, particularly in finance, administration and European institutions. Life is more rural in the north, while the south has a stronger urban and industrial character. Leisure activities include cycle paths, hiking, clubs and cultural offerings.
