Living in Thailand

Thailand is located in Southeast Asia and stretches from the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the borders with Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Around 69.4 million people live in the country. Tropical forests, fertile plains, mountains, and long coastlines shape the landscape. The climate is generally warm; rainy and dry seasons vary by region, while the north experiences cooler winter months. In Bangkok and other cities, many people live in apartments and use buses, trains, motorcycles, or boats; in rural areas, houses, fields, and smaller town centers are more widely dispersed. Jobs, markets, schools, and leisure activities are distributed differently across regions, ranging from industry and services to agriculture and fishing.
