Living together in Tuvalu

Living together in Tuvalu is organized through island communities, family relationships, customary practice and public institutions rather than one national neighbourhood authority. The Falekaupule, the traditional island assembly, and the Kaupule, its local executive arm, support local order and development, while Maneapa community meeting houses and Aganu customs shape everyday cooperation. Constitutional rights, local rules, complaints and court processes provide additional protection when agreement fails or serious harm occurs.
