School in Tuvalu

Tuvalu’s school system covers voluntary early childhood care and education (ECCE) for ages 3–5, primary education from Year 1 to Year 8, and secondary education through Year 13. Children normally enter primary school at age 6, while the Education (Compulsory Education) Order requires regular education from the school year in which a child turns 7 until the end of the school year in which the child turns 15. Tuvalu has nine government primary schools, one Seventh-day Adventist primary school, and two nationwide secondary schools: Motufoua Secondary School on Vaitupu and Fetuvalu Secondary School on Funafuti. The system uses Tuvaluan and English, national curriculum standards, examinations and inclusive-education support.
