Traditions in Sudan

Sudanese traditions are inherited and socially transmitted practices, symbols and expressions linked to family life, ceremonies, seasonal work, clothing, music and crafts. Their forms differ sharply between communities and regions, so Sudan has no single national costume, ceremony or musical style. Families, elders, artisans, schools, universities and media pass them on through participation, observation, apprenticeship and documentation. Recognition through a national inventory supports safeguarding, but it does not create an individual right to enter a community practice.
