Labor market in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone's labor market is dominated by agriculture, self-employment and informal work, while formal wage jobs remain limited. Trade, services, production, construction, mining and tourism provide different opportunities, but jobs and productive businesses are concentrated around Freetown and the Western Area. Education, TVET, workplace learning and practical experience do not yet connect fully with employer demand.

Tip

Use Sierra Leone's labor market information as a starting point, not as a promise of a job or income. Choose between a formal vacancy, training, apprenticeship or self-employment according to the protection, qualification and income stability you need. Check the actual employer, terms, location, skills requirements and social-security position before committing.
