Nature in Rwanda

Rwanda's nature includes mountain rainforests, volcanoes, savannas, lakes, rivers, wetlands and peatlands that support wildlife, water storage, soil protection and tourism. The country has four national parks, the Rugezi-Burera-Ruhondo wetland complex and many locally managed natural areas. Nature use is regulated through protected-area permits, wetland rules, environmental assessment and community agreements.
