Mongolia's national Мэргэжлийн болон техникийн боловсрол, сургалт (МТБС) system includes vocational education, technical education and vocational training. Vocational training provides short competency or qualification programs with flexible, program-specific duration. Vocational education develops occupation-ready skills, usually through one-year or three-year programs. Technical education develops skills for technical or technology-related execution and management. A person can enter vocational education after basic education, while combined programs can provide vocational and general secondary education. Technical education normally requires full secondary education or a relevant higher or vocational qualification. A vocational graduate may progress to technical education through credit recognition where the program permits it.
Apprenticeship in Mongolia
Mongolia's vocational education and training system prepares people for specific occupations through classroom learning, practical training and workplace experience. It includes short vocational courses, one- or three-year vocational programs and technical education pathways. Licensed institutions, employers and public bodies share responsibility for training, admission, practice and assessment.
Tip
Choose the shortest pathway that still matches the occupation, qualification level and future plans. Confirm the program's license, admission route, practice arrangement, intake date and funding status with the institution before committing. Treat the qualification as preparation for work, not as a promise of automatic employment.
