Apprenticeship in Malawi

Apprenticeship in Malawi is part of TEVET (Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training), which develops skills for a specific occupation. Formal apprenticeship combines learning at a registered TEVET provider with industrial attachment, while informal apprenticeship or on-the-job training takes place with a registered Master Craftsperson. Both forms can support wage or self-employment, but duration, certification, fees and access depend on the occupation, provider and intake.
