Living in Lithuania

Lithuania is located in Northern Europe on the Baltic Sea and borders Latvia, Belarus, Poland, and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. The country has around 2.8 million inhabitants. Forests, lakes, flat plains, and the sandy Baltic coast shape the landscape. The climate is temperate: winters can be cold and snowy, while summers are usually mild to warm. In Vilnius and other cities, many people live in apartments and use buses, cars, or bicycles; in rural areas, detached houses and longer distances are common. People work in sectors including services, industry, and agriculture. In their free time, people meet up, attend cultural events, or spend time in nature.
