Living in Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein lies between Switzerland and Austria in the Alpine Rhine Valley and has around 37,910 inhabitants. The small country stretches from the flat Rhine Valley to the alpine heights of Triesenberg and Malbun. Summers in the valley are mild to warm, while the mountains have cooler temperatures and snowy winters. Many people live in single-family homes or smaller residential complexes; Vaduz and Schaan feel denser and more urban than the mountain communities. Buses, cars, and short distances are important for everyday life, and many people also commute to Switzerland or Austria. Jobs are available, among other sectors, in industry, services, administration, and finance. Leisure activities often take place in clubs, on hiking trails, or through winter sports.
