Religion in Kyrgyzstan

Religion in Kyrgyzstan is protected by freedom of conscience and religion, while the Constitution separates the state from religious organizations and recognizes no state religion. Islam has the largest registered institutional presence, alongside Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and other religious communities. Organized religious activity generally requires registration, but individuals may hold beliefs, pray and change or leave a religion without forming an organization.
