Common leisure activities in Cabo Verde include football, basketball, athletics, volleyball, martial arts, swimming and water sports. Access is provided by clubs, associations, municipal facilities, gyms, schools and community programmes. Constitutional law under Article 80 protects physical culture and sport and provides for state support for associations; this does not create a general entitlement to every leisure offering.
