Nature in Guinea

Guinea contains four natural regions, from Atlantic mangroves and estuaries to Fouta Djallon highlands, savanna and humid forests. These landscapes regulate water, support fisheries and farming, protect soils and coastlines, store carbon and provide habitat for rare species. Nature protection exists through national parks, classified forests, reserves, wetlands and community-managed areas, but management and access vary strongly by site.
