Living in Eswatini

Eswatini lies in southern Africa between South Africa and Mozambique and has around 1.1 million people. The landlocked country stretches from forested highland areas through hilly grasslands to the warmer lowlands. The heaviest rainfall usually occurs in summer, while winters are drier in many areas; higher elevations can be considerably cooler. In Mbabane and Manzini, rental apartments, shops, offices and minibuses shape everyday life. In rural areas, families more often live in larger houses or homesteads and combine farming with other work. Many people commute by bus or shared taxi. Leisure time is spent visiting family, playing sports, enjoying music and attending community events, with daily life differing significantly between regions.
