Living in Czechia

Czechia lies in the heart of Europe and has around 10.6 million people. The landlocked country encompasses forested uplands, fertile plains and river valleys; in the west and north, hills and mountains alternate, while the south is often more open and agriculturally oriented. Summers are usually warm and winters cool, with more snow at higher elevations. In Prague and Brno, many people live in rented apartments and use extensive public transport networks, while in smaller towns and villages, detached houses and cars play a larger role. People work in industry, services, administration and skilled trades. After work, people meet in cafés, exercise or spend time in parks, forests and nearby places.
