Disasters in The Bahamas include hurricanes and tropical storms, storm surge, flooding, drought and extreme heat, wildfires, tsunami, and coastal erosion linked to sea-level rise. The national system combines preparedness, warnings, evacuation, emergency assistance, infrastructure protection and recovery, with different risks and capacities across islands. The Disaster Risk Management Authority coordinates this work under the Disaster Risk Management Act 2022 and the National Disaster Emergency Plan.
