Living in Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda is located in the eastern Caribbean and is part of the Lesser Antilles. Around 96,286 people live on the two main islands. Antigua is more densely populated and shaped by its capital, St. John’s, while Barbuda is considerably more rural and expansive, with the settlement of Codrington. The tropical climate brings warm temperatures, a drier season, and occasional severe storms. Many people live in single-family homes, smaller settlements are connected by roads and buses, and boats and aircraft operate between the islands. Employment is found mainly in tourism, services, trade, fishing, and small-scale agricultural enterprises. Everyday life includes beach visits, water sports, cricket, and gatherings with others.
