Living in Andorra

Andorra lies in the eastern Pyrenees between France and Spain and has around 77,006 inhabitants. This small, mountainous country consists mainly of narrow valleys, steep slopes, and higher peaks. Winters in the mountains are cold and snowy, while summers are generally sunny and dry; temperatures and weather vary considerably depending on altitude. Many people live in densely built-up settlements along the valleys, especially in and around Andorra la Vella, while higher-altitude communities are quieter and more strongly shaped by mountain landscapes. In everyday life, people get around by bus, car, or on foot. Jobs are found mainly in retail, services, tourism, and construction; free time is spent hiking, skiing, or taking part in clubs.
